FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in application of vacuum-plasma three-layer coating. As a lower layer nitride of titanium and silicon is applied at pressure of nitrogen in a chamber of the installation 7.5·10-4 Pa and temperature 600°C. Same nitride alloyed with zirconium is applied as an intermediate layer at pressure of nitrogen of 7.5·10-4 Pa and temperature 550°C in the chamber of the installation. As an upper layer nitride of titanium and zirconium is applied at pressure of nitrogen in a chamber of the installation 4.3·10-3 Pa and temperature 500°C.
EFFECT: increased functionality of cutting tool and upgraded quality of treatment.
