FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in a level gauge (2) in a reservoir with liquid, particularly the housing (4) of a nuclear plant reactor based on using heated thermal elements (HT) and unheated thermal elements (UHT) as signal sensors, there is a plurality of elongated measuring tubes (6) which are spaced apart. Each measuring tube (6) has a certain number of thermal elements (HT, UHT), distributed in the longitudinal direction, where each thermal element (HT) heated by a heater (HE) and acting as a primary signal sensor, is placed in accordance with the unheated thermal element (UHT) acting as the reference signal sensor and placed on the measuring tube (6), different from the first measuring tube (6).

EFFECT: simple design and high fail-safety, clear and reliable level measurement.
