SUBSTANCE: system of separating materials comprises modules which separate the desired material from secondary material, modules which measure process output variables during separation of the material, which indicate the degree of separation between the desired and secondary materials, a module which evaluates the state of the process by applying measured output variables and external constraints for the prediction time interval to the model of the process of separating material, a module which optimises the target function by maximising output of the desired material during the process of separating material, as a result of which at least one set value is obtained for each of the input variables of the model, and at least one regulating module which regulates the process by using the set value.
