FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry, particularly, to production of foamed polystyrene patterns to be used in cavityless casting. Here, mould with vents is filled with foamed polystyrene granules to cast patterns by heat shock, mould is cooled by cold shock and pattern is withdrawn after mould temperature reaches 40-50°C. Mould filled with said granules, water is added therein in amount of 0.2-0.5 of free mould volume between granules to rotate the mould. Thereafter, mould is heated by hot air to water boiling and superheated steam creation. Granules are processed by complex heat shock by hot boiling water and superheated steam to their expansion and sintering, processing being terminated after release of steam condensate via mould vents. Now, mould is cooled down in cold air flow and model is withdrawn.
EFFECT: simplified process, higher efficiency, reduced costs.
