FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises probing upflow of nonseparated gas-fluid mix by continuous ultrasound signal, receiving signal reflected from irregularities, detecting received signal to define differential frequency of received and probing signal. Note here that simultaneously with differential frequency, signal spectrum width is defined. In calibration, dependence of signal spectrum differential frequency and width upon flow rate of fluid and gas phases is determined and, proceeding from defined dependencies, flow rates of fluid and gas phases are defined. Signal levels are determined when prevailing differential frequency takes on positive and negative values. EFFECT: higher accuracy, expanded performances and simplified method.
