FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: liquid-phase oxidation of aqueous solution of sodium bisulphite with atmospheric oxygen is carried out in a vertical-type bead mill with weight ratio of the reaction mixture to glass beads equal to 1:1 with fractional supply of the oxidised compound and preventive fractional tapping of the reaction mixture such that volume thereof remains constant during the process. Air is bubbled and iron sulphate is used as a catalyst. Each subsequent supply of reagent is carried out the when almost all of the reagent of the previous supply is finished, and the process continues in that mode until 7-8 mol of the initial reagent per 1 l of the reaction mixture react, after which the process is stopped.
EFFECT: invention enables to intensity the process of oxidising aqueous solution of sodium bisulphite.
