FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves pre-foaming of foaming styrene polymers to form foamed plastic particles. The foamed plastic particles are coated with aqueous polyacrylate dispersion and soot, coke, aluminium powder or graphite as an athermic compound. Further, the coated foamed plastic particles are loaded into a mould and agglomeration takes place under pressure in the absence of water vapour.
EFFECT: obtained foamed plastic moulded articles have low heat conductivity, high fire resistance and good mechanical properties.
