FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in the method to control multiple plants for air separation by means of cryogenic distillation, a gas that substantially has identical composition, is sent from N plants to a consumption block (5). Each plant comprises a system of columns for distillation of gas mixture (1B, 2B, 3B, 4B), in particular, air, and a unit for gas mixture adsorption, in particular, adsorption of air (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A), where at least two adsorbers are used. Each plant with phase shift follows one and the same cycle, where a phase of adsorption, at high cycle pressure, and a phase of regeneration, at lower pressure, take turns, with a repeated compression at the end in the adsorber. The method includes a stage, at which adsorbers are connected in parallel. Functioning of at least some treatment units is controlled so that the stage of repeated compression for one plant starts from the moment of time, which is different from the time, when repeated compression starts for another plant, besides, functioning of adsorption units (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A) is controlled so that at least some of adsorption units act at least periodically with different cycle durations.
EFFECT: using the invention will make it possible to reduce the number of compression stages that coincide in time to the minimum.
