FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial absorption production of nitric acid. The apparatus includes a plasma-chemical chamber with a housing 1, merged with the housing 6 of a heat exchanger for cooling exhaust gases and heating the crude mixture, and a unit for diluting exhaust gases. The dilution unit is configured to suck atmospheric air made possible by three designs: through a free joint - abruption in a solid pipe, where the supply end part 14, for example, has a smaller diameter, and the receiving end part 15 has a larger diameter; through at least two connecting pipes on a partition attached to the end part 14 of a supply pipe and placed at the end part 15 of a receiving pipe; through an injection chamber with two partitions and connecting pipes with suction channels through a common nozzle. The injection chamber of the unit for diluting atmospheric air can be built into the housing 6 of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger in form of a prechamber.
EFFECT: apparatus is simple, enables to lower electric power consumption while reducing installed power of the gas blower, reduce pressure air consumption, increase heat exchange efficiency between the crude mixture and exhaust gases.
