FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method of producing a catalyst, involving reaction of catalyst components in a hydrocarbon solvent, said components including organoaluminium compounds, a conjugated diene, a rare-earth element carboxylate and carbon tetrachloride, wherein triisobutylaluminium, conjugated diene and rare-earth metal carboxylate are mixed first, followed by successive addition of diisobutylaluminium hydride and carbon tetrachloride in molar ratio triisobutylaluminium: conjugated diene: rare-earth element: diisobutylaluminium hydride: carbon tetrachloride equal to 6-12:1-20:1:6-12:0.500:0.625.
EFFECT: simple technique and possibility of obtaining a catalyst with narrow molecular weight distribution and low content of high-molecular fractions.
