FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for indicating moon phases on the Jewish calendar comprises interfaced clock mechanism, apparatus for indicating time with accuracy of 1 helek, apparatus for indicating moon phases on the Jewish calendar with a period of 765433 helek and apparatus for indicating moon phases on a clock-face. The apparatus for indicating time with accuracy of 1 helek is in form of a gear pair with gear ratio of 1 to 18 and is driven by the fourth wheel of the clock mechanism. The apparatus for indicating moon phases on the Jewish calendar with period of 765433 heleks is in form of a reducing gear with reduction ratio 765433, driven by the fourth wheel of the clock mechanism and the gear pair with gear ratio of 1 to 18. The reducing gear with reducing ratio 765433 is in form of a multiple-reduction gear unit with possibility of obtaining a reduction ratio of 765433. The apparatus for indicating moon phases on the clock-face is in form of a window on the clock-face and a disc under the clock-face, having moon images with possibility of rotation of the said disc with a period of 765433 heleks and indication of moon phases in the window on the clock-face.
EFFECT: design of an apparatus for indicating moon phases on the Jewish calendar, having a simple design, which is accurate and reliable, cheap to produce and suitable for installation in virtually any type of analogue clocks.
