SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry. The functional composition of a sweetener contains a functional ingredient, a composition of rebaudioside A and polyol. The functional ingredient is represented by probiotic and/or prebiotic. One also proposes functional sweetened compositions produced based on the functional sweetener composition and a method for imparting a more sugar-like time profile, a more sugar-like flavouring profile or both profiles of the functional sweetener composition.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to produce a non-caloric intensive sweetener which may be used in various diets with benefit for human health.
