MALE UNDERWEAR AND METHOD OF ITS MANUFACTURING Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A41B9/02

Abstract RU 2428084 C2

FIELD: personal use articles.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of design and making of male underwear. Male undershorts include front and back parts made of cut elements, a gusset made as volume tailored and containing three cut parts, in the form of the left, right and central wedges, which are joined by means of curvilinear longitudinal seams to form a volume convex part in the undershorts, and an elastic belt. The gusset and its edges along perimetre are arranged as a volume stock with an oblong shape that is teardrop-like in plan, and its front part is made as a parabola, formed by sections of edges in all parts of the cut gusset, and the back part is arranged as a rectangular wedge formed by sections of the edges in the central wedge of the gusset. Besides, the left and right wedges of the gusset are arranged as symmetrical with two acute-angled ends, and their longitudinal length is less than the longitudinal length of the central wedge by 5-20 cm, and in the parabolic part of the gusset there is its control cross section formed, in which the width of each of three parts of the cut gusset differs from width of other parts by not more than 0.5 cm. The method of making male underwear, including selection of fabric, identification of size, with account of a human being's corpulence, cutting front and back parts of underwear, cutting elements of the gusset, and a belt element, seam attachment of the cut elements to form the specified model of underwear. In the method size is identified with account of gusset size, which is determined on the basis of penis or scrotum length in neutral condition, the gusset cut is made of two symmetrical side and one central curvilinear extended parts, which are then attached to each other by means of stitches to form the gusset as a volume convex body, which is then connected to the front and back parts of the underwear by means of a teardrop-shaped stitch extended in plan along the perimetre of the gusset volume body edges. Besides, the gusset size is determined by length of its control cross section, in which the width of the side and central parts of the gusset differ from each other by not more than by 0.5 cm and the maximum length of the central part of the gusset, which depend on penis or scrotum size in neutral condition.

EFFECT: advantage of this underwear model and models created on its basis consists in the cutting principle, which provides for natural and physiologically proper position of scrotum and also availability of the required temperature differentiation in inguinal zone, and also methods of industrial production, which take into account individual size of genitals area.
