SUBSTANCE: described is a method of producing a fluorine-containing polymer which involves water-emulsion polymerisation of one or more fluorinated monomers, wherein said water-emulsion polymerisation is carried out in the presence of perfluorinated polyether as an emulsifying agent, and said perfluorinated polyether is selected from a group comprising perforated polyethers which have the formula (I) given above: CF₃-(OCF₂)_m-O-CF₂-X (I), where m assumes values from 1 to 3 and X is a carboxylic acid group or salt thereof; perfluorinated polyethers of formula (II): CF₃-O-(CF₂)₃-O-L-Y (II), where L is a divalent connecting group selected from -CF(CF₃)-, -CF₂-, and Y is carboxylic acid group or salt thereof; mixtures of perfluorinted polyethers of formula (I), (II) or combinations of said compounds. Described also is an aqueous dispersion which contains a fluorine-containing polymer and perfluorinated polyether as an emulsifying agent. Said perfluorinated polyether is selected from a group consisting of perfluorinated polyethers given above. Described is a method which involves applying coatings or saturating a substrate with said aqueous dispersion.
