SUBSTANCE: when receiving information that identifies available networks, which comply with various types of transfer medium, a component of the user interface aggregates the available network connections and displays representations of available network connections in the user interface. The user interface is a single page, on which the available networks are presented as available network connections, which may correspond to destinations, for instance, by displaying a network name and/or a name convenient for a user and saved in a network profile. Also a condition of coherence is displayed, as well as security information, signal level information for wireless network connections, and other information. The user may select to show all available network connections or only a subset of available network connections (for instance, only wireless or only switched ones and VPN).
EFFECT: unification of network connections of various types into a single user interface for user interaction with such networks.
