FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: shared service line subscribers are connected to an automatic telephone station (ATS) through an interlocking device. A DC voltage signal is sent over a communication line from the ATS to the interlocking device before the DC signal or a variable voltage signal appears on the line, which indicates the line being occupied by one of the subscribers. The interlocking device identifies the busy line while simultaneously blocking the line which is not busy and then transmitting information on the busy line to the automatic telephone station. The busy line is identified by successively switching off subscribers from the communication line.
EFFECT: possibility of separating and identifying shared service line subscribers by a telephone station, reduced noise in the telephone line when connecting shared lines and avoiding erroneous connection of a subscriber by enabling detection of an active subscriber using the interlocking device.
