FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: substance of the invention involves application of a delta-like ligand DLL4 antagonist in preparing a drug for prevention or reduction of blood vessel loss and/or promotion of productive angiogenesis in a patient suffering ischemic injury or circulatory collapse. As the DLL4 antagonist, it contains an antibody or an antibody fragment which specifically binds DLL4 and blocks its binding with a Notch receptor. Also, the invention involves application of the delta-like ligand (DLL4) antagonist for prevention or reduction of blood vessel loss and/or promotion of productive angiogenesis in the patient suffering ischemic injury or circulatory collapse.
EFFECT: advantage of the invention consists in preparation of the drug for treating vascular and ischemic eye diseases.
