FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: evaluating effectiveness of film coatings in burn wound repair is enabled by determining microorganism sensitivity to chitosan film coatings. An effect of the coating on the wound microflora is evaluated by incubation of the wound microflora and the coating on a nutrient agar medium to be thereafter analysed for microflora sensitivity to the coating by the absence of bacterial growth. The incubation process is performed at 37°C for 24 hours. Microorganism sensitivity is evaluated consistently during each period of burn disease, thereafter the coating is replaced by that one considered being the most effective.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides higher accuracy of evaluating effectiveness of the chitosan film coating due to sensitivity analysis of microorganism found on surfaces of burn and granulating wounds depending on a pattern of the wound process, severity and depth of the lesion.
