FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to therapy and gastroenterology. Carbohydrate status prediction in patients with a pantreatoduodenal pathology associating various duodenal involvements is ensured by determining duration of a primary disease, evaluating a biceps circle, analysing blood serum amylase and gammaglutamyl transpeptidase activity. Additionally, there are evaluated: admission body weight loss, height, dysproteinemia, fibrinogen, ESR, total and conjugated bilirubin, blood urea, S-peptide, glucagon-like peptide-1; posttreatment size of a right lobe of liver, a common bile duct and a Wirsung canal; posttreatment presence dry mouth, if any, tortuosity of a Wirsung canal, a duodenum, documented hypoglycaemia episodes; type of prospective treatment. The patient's carbohydrate status (CS) is calculated. If observing the value CS≥1, a high probability of carbohydrate metabolism decompensation is stated; the value CS≤0 shows a high probability of compensation, while the intermediate CS ranging within 0 to 1 testifies to an uncertainty with respect to the carbohydrate metabolism status.

EFFECT: method allows predicting the carbohydrate status in the patients with the pantreatoduodenal pathology associating various duodenal involvements.
