FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: computer system for positioning objects in a multi-dimensional graphic application container has a processor-implemented positioning module which receives parameters associated with arrangement of a set of objects along a curvilinear one-dimensional manifold embedded, at least partially, into said container, and calculates positioning coordinates of each object in that set of objects along said curvilinear one-dimensional manifold based, at least partially, on the extent of that object and additional space surrounding said object, wherein that space is defined by said extent and/or extent of the object neighbouring said object in said set of objects. Said set of objects is arranged along said curvilinear one-dimensional manifold such that each object is reproduced in a display module such that the centre line of said each object is directed at a tangent to said curvilinear one-dimensional manifold.
EFFECT: more flexible orientation of visual elements not only in two-dimensional but also in n-dimensional space of the graphic application.
