FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of combined mixture formation in internal combustion engine with gas distribution system that contains at least one valve, in which combustion chamber is performed in piston cavity with size exceeding valve head diameter and depth not less than valve lift length. Note that air-and-fuel mixture is directed to combustion chamber in a form of circular jet through annular gap that is formed by combustion chamber and cowl at valve head under the influence of rarefaction that is created by valve in combustion chamber at piston movement from upper dead point. Filling the volume of combustion chamber the jet is transformed into circular or toroidal vortex depending upon chamber shape. At the end of compression stroke the cowl enters combustion chamber decreasing its open flow area, note that the air enters combustion chamber through annular gap that is formed by piston and cowl at the valve head.
EFFECT: improvement of combined mixture formation and increase of engine operation efficiency.
