FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: internal ring of tested bearing is secured on shaft. Constant axial load is applied to an external ring. Internal ring is rotated at a constant rate and there is measured and analysed radial vibration of the external ring of the bearing. Also, there are measured frequencies for balls rolling along external and internal races or their harmonic and combination frequencies determined by addition or subtraction of harmonics of frequency of ball rolling along internal race with rotation frequency of shaft according to ratio fcint=fintfint±fs, where fcint is combination frequency related with frequency of balls rolling on internal race, kint - is integral number (1, 2, 3…), fint is frequency of balls rolling on internal race, fs is frequency of shaft rotation. Condition of the bearing and value of radial gap are determined by value of approach of frequencies of balls on races Δf=fint-fe, where fint is frequency of balls rolling in internal race; fe is frequency of balls rolling in external race.
EFFECT: raised efficiency, information value and quality of diagnosis of value of radial gap under conditions of rotation and effect of axial load.
