FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for rapid detection of high-quality quartz material involves collecting monofractions of quartz, measuring thermo-stimulated luminescence (TSL) intensity thereof, followed by determining structure imperfection. The collected monofraction of quartz is heated from room temperature to 500°C without preliminary irradiation and structure imperfection is indicated by TSL in the temperature interval 350-500°C and predominance thereof over luminescence intensity in the interval 20-320°C. High-quality quartz material is then identified.
EFFECT: high reliability of identifying high-purity quartz.
