FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: at an object, time instances for receiving radio signals are recorded, said radio signals being transmitted synchronously by a group consisting of four radio signals which enable simultaneous multiple access, from four radio beacon centres with one transmitting antenna at each centre. At the object, including a mobile object, when receiving radio signals, simultaneous multiple access is carried out with ordered pickup of radio signals transmitted in the group and not reflected from the earth's surface and the difference between reception times of the radio signals is measured. Phase centres of antennae lie in a certain manner at the same height. Spatial coordinates are determined from disclosed simple expressions which depend on the average values of repeatedly measured differences between reception times of corresponding radio signals.
EFFECT: high efficiency of transmitting radio signals.
