FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: antennae at reception centres, each reception centre having one antenna, record time instances for receiving radio signals from a radio-frequency source, wherein phase centres of the antennae lie in a certain manner at the same height. Spatial coordinates are determined from disclosed simple expressions which depend on the average values of repeatedly measured differences between reception times of corresponding radio signals.
EFFECT: high efficiency of transmitting radio signals and possibility of monitoring movement of objects - radio-frequency sources - using ground-based equipment.
