SUBSTANCE: method consists in balancing capacity along phases by means of arc current control in each electrode and control of electric parameters of a short circuit by connection of single-phase controlled electric reactors of transformer type into phases between a furnace transformer and a short circuit into one or several phases with the least value of reactive resistance.

EFFECT: minimisation of negative exposure at the supply circuit, compared to batteries of static capacitors, a single-phase controlled electric reactor of transformer type is less sensitive to effect of currents of high harmonic components, has longer service life and reliability in operation.
