FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in power adjustment as to phases by controlling the arc current of each electrode and control of electric parameters of low-voltage circuit due to introduction to the diagram of indirect voltage control as the second electromagnetic unit of controlled combined reactor transformer and increase in inductive resistance of its secondary windings.

EFFECT: increasing productivity; reducing specific power consumption of the furnace and improving the operating reliability of the control device, and minimising negative action on power line.
