FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: system creates an orthogonal table according to set design parameters, executes many times, for each of the sets of design parameter groups, a virtual prototyping operation by adjusting the dimensional tolerance of each part, processes averages and variances of sets of evaluation indices obtained via the virtual prototyping operations, to form a response surface and response surface model. A factorial effect diagram of design parameters for each evaluation index, is created and the factorial effect diagram is examined. Optional combinations of design parameters sensitive to the evaluation indices are formed and the combinations are applied to the response surface model. Many design solutions are formed by optionally combining all design parameters which may achieve design target values. Filtering is carried out to extract a maximum likelihood design solution candidate group which achieves specified evaluation index limit values out of the design solutions and a maximum likelihood design solution group is selected from the solution candidate group.
