SUBSTANCE: system for generating protected documents includes a station for generating a simple document and a security image generator. That security image is then included in the simple document. Each security image consists of multiple security elements, wherein each security element is defined by two sets of parallel lines. Each security element defines a alphabet-numerical character or some other unique image which is visible only under certain conditions, e.g. when inspected through a visualiser. That method can also be employed to provide security images on a webpage as a means of indicating that the webpage is authentic.

EFFECT: more accurate and time-saving creation of a unique security image which is electronically included or embedded into a certain document.
