SUBSTANCE: device to process images comprises a unit of symbols recognition made as capable to perform processing of symbols recognition for multiple symbol images in a document image to produce codes of symbols corresponding to appropriate images of symbols, and a generation unit made as capable of generating a digital document, besides, this digital document includes a document image, multiple codes of symbols produced by the specified unit of symbols recognition, data on a glyph and a description required to visualise data on a glyph, corresponding to multiple codes of symbols with smaller size compared to dimensions of symbol images, in locations corresponding to lower edges of symbol images in a document image, besides, data on a glyph is used as common data for multiple codes of symbols in visualisation of symbols corresponding to these multiple codes of symbols.
EFFECT: optimisation of digital document data volume in images processing.
