FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: transformer for induction electrothermic plants comprises water-cooled windings: a primary heavy winding in the form of a flat spiral, and a secondary single-turn winding formed by parallel hollow disks each of which has axially symmetrical window and section. Fragments of side walls of the disks adjoining the section on one side of a symmetry axis are connected with a water-cooled terminal block. The terminal block has at least one cavity with which cavities of each disk on a disk fragment adjoining the section are directly connected on an area smaller than a cross section area of the disk cavity. The greatest effect is ensured by a relation of the area adjoining the disk section on which the disk cavity of the secondary winding is directly connected with the terminal block cavity (a passage opening), to the cross section area of the disk cavity as 1:(3-4.) Internal ends of the neighbouring spirals of the primary winding can be connected with a jumper passing through an axially symmetrical extension of the disk section of the secondary winding from the window arranged between these spirals.
EFFECT: higher rated power and efficiency, reduced weight and dimensions due to lower heat loss and leakage inductance.
