FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: data, which define an object to undergo reconstruction, are first organised in form of a certain number of virtual layers, where each layer defines sets of object data such that a set of video hologram data can be calculated from said two-dimensional sets of object data. At the first step, each two-dimensional set of object data is converted to a two-dimensional wave field distribution. That wave field distribution is calculated for the virtual window of a viewer in a reference layer at a limited distance from the video hologram layer. The calculated two-dimensional wave field distributions in the virtual window of the viewer from all two-dimensional sets of object data are then put together in order to determine the overall set of data of the window of the viewer. That overall set of data of the window of the viewer is then converted from the reference layer to a video hologram layer in order to form a set of video hologram data for a digital video hologram.
EFFECT: simple process, improved method.
