FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in internal combustion engines. Waste gas is forced through catalytic system 30 with catalyst containing fraction of noble metals of palladium and rhodium arranged behind ICE. In said fraction palladium and rhodium elements feature w/w exceeding 5:1, 6:1, 7:1, 8:1, 9:1, 10:1, 11:1 or 12:1. After starting ICE 10 and operating it in new European drive cycle for 30 seconds, catalyst temperature Tk exceeds 300°C.
EFFECT: reduced costs and rhodium consumption at tolerable emission level.
