FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: contradirectional strip coupler has a rectangular metallic housing with a rectangular cavity formed by the base and the top, first, second and third coaxial connectors and a resistive load. Three dielectric plates with an identical shape are placed one on top of the other in the rectangular cavity. A layer of plastic material is deposited on the first dielectric plate on the side of base of the housing and on the third dielectric plate on the side of the cover of the housing. There is a first and a second strip conductor connected to each other via nonuniform electromagnetic coupling on both surfaces of the second dielectric plate. The beginning and the end of the second strip conductor and the beginning of the second strip conductor are connected to inner conductors of corresponding coaxial connectors, and the end of the second strip conductor is connected to the second lead of the resistive load. There are also two identical pentagon-shaped film-type conducting elements on both sides of the second dielectric plate, and two metallic cylinders provide ohmic contact between the film-type conducting elements and the housing. First ends of film-type metal strips are attached in slits formed in rear parts of the inner conductors of the coaxial connectors and in the second lead of the resistive load, and second ends of said strips are tightly pressed to the beginning and end of corresponding strip conductors.

EFFECT: wider operating frequency range of the contradirectional strip coupler.
