SUBSTANCE: invention refers to cosmetics, particularly a base deodorant composition for an antiperspirant stick. The composition contains propylene glycol, glycerine and water, and also a thickening agent in such quantity that the composition forms the antiperspirant stick where specified propylene glycol is present in amount 20 to 70 wt %, specified glycerine is found in amount 10 to 60 wt % and specified water is found in amount 10 to 35 wt %. The composition contains a base which contains one or more calmant agents, one or several deodorising agents, one or more antioxidants and optionally one or more aromatic substances. The method of skin bacteria growth inhibition involves application of the composition.

EFFECT: invention provides a odour inhibition area by a volume of at least 1 mm according to the an inhibition area test.
