SUBSTANCE: proposed dishwasher includes a control device made with the ability to activate a program of a series of programs of automatic washing performed by the dishwasher. Each subsequent automatic washing program in the series corresponds to a higher degree of contamination of utensils, compared with the previous automatic washing program of this series. The control device is also designed with the ability to measure the elapsed time between the first and second use of the dishwasher, and to select one program from a series of programs of automatic washing on the basis of this time of the second use; at that if a certain time elapsed between the first and second use of the dishwasher is increased, the selected automatic washing program in a series is appropriately shifted forward along the series. Also a method associated with a device is proposed.

EFFECT: creating a device and/or method of automatic cleaning, disinfection or other methods to remove the accumulated dirt from the dishwasher after the period of its use and before reuse.
