SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for automatic assessment of the presence of foam in dishwasher (1) equipped with optical devices (8). The specified method includes: stage (11) of receiving first digital image (11A) characterizing the first state of zone (2''') for collecting washing medium of dishwasher (1); stage (12) of digital processing of first digital image (11A) to obtain first processed image (11B) that identifies the amount of the first volume of medium contained in zone (2''') for collecting washing medium; stage (13) of receiving second digital image (13A) characterizing the second state of zone (2''') for collecting washing medium after the specified time interval has elapsed from the moment of performance of stage (11) of receiving first digital image (11A); stage (14) of digital processing of second digital image (13A) to obtain second processed image (13B) that identifies the amount of the second volume of medium contained in zone (2''') for collecting washing medium; stage (15) of comparison of the amount of the first volume of medium with the amount of the second volume of medium to count value (DV) of the medium volume change; a stage of generating signal (Sig) about the presence of foam, characterizing the presence of foam in zone (2''') for collecting washing medium, when value (DV) of the medium voltage change exceeds the specified threshold value; a stage of modifying washing parameters of washing program (P) of dishwasher (1), when the signal about the presence of foam is generated.

EFFECT: obtaining a method for automatic assessment of the presence of foam in a dishwasher.
