FIELD: machine-building industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes modified expandable material containing polystyrene, stilbenes derivatives, carbonic acid diamide, quartz and/or silicates, sodium bicarbonate and/or ammonium hydrogen carbonate, sodium - carboxymethylcellulose in 0.1 -23 weight parts with regard to 100 weight parts of expandable polystyrene as dispersion stabiliser, water solution of cation surface-active substance in 0.1-21 wt. parts as dispersion substance, dinitrosopentamethylene-tetramine in 0.05-22 weight parts as an inhibitor of endogenous and exogenous burning which is pre-homogenised with carbonic acid diamide in 0.1-18 weight parts in ratio to 100 weight parts of inhibitor by weight in the presence of derivative 4.4'-bis(c-triazinil)diamino-2.2'-disulfonic stilbene as stilbene derivatives in amounts exceeding 0.05-14 weight parts and with water solution of silicate in 0.2-50 weight parts. In addition, the weight parts are specified with regard to 100 weight parts of material. The method of the above mentioned modified expandable materials is also described.

EFFECT: production of expandable material with improved mechanical properties, reduced rate of anisotropy and increased inter-granular adhesion during production.
