FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: device for determining distance (Δx) at least between one rotating blade (14) and wall (111) of machine (10), which envelopes at least one rotating blade (14), for conversion of kinetic flow energy to mechanical energy includes wave guide (40) for directing electromagnetic waves (31a, 31b, 32a, 32b) with various frequencies and emitting electromagnetic waves (31a) at least with one frequency at least through one waveguide hole (41) facing rotating blade (14) in the direction of rotating blade (14); at least one input device (51) of electromagnetic waves (31a, 31b) with various frequencies to waveguide (40) and at least one device (52) for receiving reflected components (32a, 32b) of electromagnetic waves (31a, 31b) introduced to waveguide (40). Besides, device includes evaluation unit (60) for evaluation of received reflected components (32a, 32b) of introduced electromagnetic waves (31a, 31b). Evaluation unit (60) includes comparing device (61) of the corresponding phase of introduced electromagnetic waves (31a, 31b) to phases of the corresponding reflected components (32a, 32b) of introduced electromagnetic waves; at that, by means of the evaluation unit for each frequency there determined is phase comparison value, and distance (Δx) can be determined from comparison of values of phase comparison. At that, waveguide (40) is equipped with sealing element (70a) of reflecting type for electromagnetic waves (31b, 32b) of one first frequency, and of passing type for electromagnetic waves (31a, 32a) of one second frequency, and has two opposite surfaces (71a, 72a).

EFFECT: protection of instruments connected to the waveguide against the conditions occurring during the machine operation; determination of the distance between one rotating blade and wall of the machine, which envelopes one rotating blade, for conversion of kinetic flow energy to mechanical energy.
