SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus of sending synchronisation signals in time division duplex (TDD) systems are described. The method comprises steps on which: sending primary-synchronisation (P-SCH) signals from synchronisation signals on the third symbol of a downlink pilot time slot (DwPTS); and sending secondary-synchronisation (S-SCH) signals from the synchronisation signals on the last OFDM symbols of time slots 1 and 11. The invention solves the problem of imposing transmission of the P-SCH signal on transmission of the pilot signals by first and second antennae at the current level of technology, guarantees that the position of the pilot signal in the DwPTS does not change and reduces the complexity of the system.
EFFECT: reduced complexity of the system without affecting characteristics associated with cell search.
