SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in mobile communication systems. To this end, the user equipment (UE) comprises a processor and memory in electronic communication with the processor. UE generates a shortened transmission time interval (sTTI) for the downlink in the serving cell. UE also determines a set of downlink associations (DL) for an uplink subframe. UE further determines the format of shortened uplink physical control channel (SPUCCH) or PUCCH format, used in uplink subframe based on at least certain number of downlink sTTI intervals in DL association set.

EFFECT: technical result is increased transmission channel capacity.
