SUBSTANCE: method of protecting digital content by using memory card encryption and decryption comprises the following steps: formatting a memory card with a predetermined format with subsequent encryption of the digital content by the manufacturer of the digital content. The digital content is then stored on an encrypted memory card; or the digital content is encrypted while downloading through a network and then stored on a memory card with a memory card format; therefore, the digital content on the memory card is encrypted and has the format of the formatted memory card; and digital content is read; the digital content is encrypted and has the format of the memory card; the digital content is de-formatted and decrypted for its restoration to that form in which it was initially downloaded from the manufacturer or from a network for playback.
