FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: gravimeters are mounted on a mobile carrier and ballistic gravimeters and precision magnetometers are mounted on reference geophysical centres. The reference geophysical centres are standalone ocean-bottom stations fitted with a hydroacoustic communication channel. The installation place of the stations is chosen taking into account the relief of the bottom of the investigated region. Reference values of gravitational acceleration, strength and induction vector of the Earth's magnetic field are determined. Gravimetric survey is carried out on circular routes which close on the reference geophysical centre. The values of gravitational acceleration and the magnitude of the induction vector of the geomagnetic field at each measurement point are determined as the sum of increments of the measured value to the previous value starting with the reference geophysical centre. Further, skeleton maps are analysed to establish the boundaries of the continental shelf.
EFFECT: high reliability of results of measuring the gravitational field.
