FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: control method involves simultaneous measurement and comparison of the absolute angular velocity of the aircraft using angular velocity sensors and relative velocity sensors of the system. The apparatus has adders, subtractors, function generators, coordinate converters and comparators, connected such that output signals of the unit of absolute angular velocity sensors are compared with estimates of these velocities calculated using signals from latitude, longitude, heading, yaw, bank and pitch sensors of the system. The difference between angular velocity estimates and these measurement values on comparators serves to determine failure of the pilot-navigation system.
EFFECT: high accuracy of detecting failure of an aircraft, high information output and accuracy of controlling parameters.
