FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: cellular network with multiple relay nodes can be connected to a local area network using a media access control (MAC) sublayer network bridge. One or more nodes in the cellular network can be configured in from of a bridge node using a MAC sublayer network bridge. Packets transmitted between local area network stations and cellular network nodes pass through one of the bridge nodes in the cellular network. The bridge nodes do not obtain all packets transmitted in the cellular network, but obtain those packets subject to transmission through the MAC sublayer network bridge. Since bridge nodes are notified on new stations in the local area network, they notify other nodes in the cellular network on routes, indicating how to reach said stations.
EFFECT: enabling functioning of a MAC sublayer network bridge between wireless cellular networks and 802 local area networks.
