SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding and energy, concerns the establishment of submarine power units. Airindependent submarine power unit is made of durable housing, lightweight body, the heat engine, the system of oxidant preparation, the system of fuel preparation, a tank of toroidal form for the storage of oxidant and tank of toroidal fuel. The diameter of the hard housing of power plant is reduced in the place of installation of the heat engine. Tanks of toroidal form for the storage of oxidizer and fuel are located around the pressure hull with a heat engine in the space between the hard and the lightweight body. In the outer hull there are openings for entry and exit of water. The invention can significantly improve the safety of airindependent power unit for a submarine operation and reduce its size.

EFFECT: increased safety and reduced size of submarine power units.
