SUBSTANCE: invention refers to technical electric chemistry and can be used in the area of water treatment. Method for softening of natural water includes its processing in electrolyser. Before electric treatment the water is saturated with carbon dioxide in amount that is equal to initial calcium concentration till the carbon-dioxide balance shifts towards extraction of carbon dioxide in anode chamber and towards formation of carbonate ions in cathode chamber.
EFFECT: decreased concentration of salts in water when it is processed in electrolyzer.
