FIELD: petroleum chemistry .
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of energy efficient method for obtaining different kinds of jet engine fuel, the biological fatty acids being the source. The method comprises a provision of a source of fatty acids containing glycerides with one or more groups of fatty acids with the mean chain length of not more than 16 carbons. Then one or more fatty acid groups with the mean chain length shall be split off from the glycerides to form glycerin and one fatty acid or over. Then glycerin shall be reduced obtaining propane, propanol, propanediol or their combinations. Afterwards decarboxylation of at least a part of fatty acids with the mean chain length shall be performed thus obtaining one or more hydrocarbons. The one or more hydrocarbons are distilled to obtain jet engine fuel. The method allows for obtaining the hydrocarbons with molecule-mass distribution similar to that of the jet engine fuel. EFFECT: highly energy-consuming cracking processing of fatty acid chain is no longer required to produce shorter molecules for the jet engine fuel and other types of fuel with the required low-temperature consumption.
