SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of building, and namely to the method for ensuring survivability of damaged building or structure and safe conduct of the repair works. Strengthening of the damage centers is produced by creation of temporary stand structures. First, strengthening of the constructions adjacent to the centers of partial damage or collapse, which are located nearest to the entrance to the building, takes place. Then strengthening of other centers of partial damage or collapse, which are the most closely spaced from the previous one within the first floor and more consistently on the overlying floor, takes place. Installation of temporary structures on each further floor is carried out in the same sequence. After strengthening of centers of partial damage or collapse, restoration and strengthening of the foundation or the base and structural elements of the building or structure located on the contour of temporary structures is conducted. Restoration of work position and enhancement of all partially or totally damaged slabs, beams, girders and cantilevers is carried out. Then dismantling of temporary structures is performed.

EFFECT: unloading and redistribution of loads in the areas of damaged elements and in blocking the development of the process of progressive collapse.
