SUBSTANCE: method comprises: obtaining a new device driver; determining a set of computing resources required for execution of the set of executable instructions of the device driver; comparing the set of resources desired by a new device driver with the set of resources used by all other device drivers and checking for overlapping-and therefore conflicting--resources. Installation is allowed only if there are no conflicts between the new device driver and the rest of the system, including all previously installed device drivers.
EFFECT: reduction in the possible errors number due to conflict prevention.
